Word Lens gets bought by Google. heres hoping for more language support

This is a great app, basically take a picture of clear sign and the app converts the writing to english.
Would be great for holidays. I just wish it did Turkish!

I got an iPad mini - my verdit, fail!

Not massively impressed which is a bit sad.

I got it thinking it'd be a handy device that i'll pass onto the girlfriend when something I want comes along as my commutes have been a lot less interesting since my old Ipad was stolen.

I still fully intend to do that. I had a proper GPS or USB3 which makes it a bit painful...

I got the black 32gb 4G version. I can't believe Apple's cheapness as to not include a pair of earphones and the sim tray..I thought I was going to break the thing pulling it out. What happened to their build quality!

I don't think I'm going to get another tablet for a while. The Nexus 7 looks good but I want to see how people find it after a short while first. Apple will have to pull out all the stops if I'm going to consider them again for a tablet.

WWDC Preview: iOS 7, iRadio and Mac OS X 10.9

So this is going to be an interesting Apple Word wide developers conference. I'm most looking forward to seeing what they do with OS X. I have a lot of love for Windows 8, but in recent time OS X has become my main OS. Anyone who's become familiar with double tapping the fn key and talking away instead of typing anyone will know what I mean.

If they were to go with a radical change, we might see some merging of iOS or new features / layouts indicating we'll soon be getting touch screen displays on Macs.

I'm not sure Apple will have figured out the strategy on this yet though. They are gaining further market share and gamers are actually getting a good deal these days with the likes of Steamplay on Steam. Unless you count EA and SimCity....

iOS 7 will keep the iDevice users happy for a while but more importantly you'll have quicker access to settings and be able to edit the layouts from the rumours.

iRadio... Not massively fussed. Not really a fan of iTunes but it might be worrying a few other streaming services.

Next-Generation iPads Due in April, iPhone 5S in August?

Since my iPad was stolen I've been getting rather frustrated without a tablet and having to resist a re-purchase. Part of me wanted to go for something else like a Surface but I have rather a lot of app purchases I want to use. Also I've already ditched the iPhone for a Windows phone and i'm happy with that.

Also on that note, Apple, you really need a iTunes blocking service based on device serial numbers if someone comes to you with a police crime reference number. Kinda appalling that manufactures don't do this, they make enough money on replacement damaged units let alone people being robbed.

Anyway Carphone Warehouse in the UK have had some pretty good deals recently such as the 32GB wifi and 3G iPad for £100 cheaper than Apple. So it's been getting harder to resist.

So it's good to see some rumours which will make me wait a bit longer! Still not sure if I want an iPad mini though. I do like that they have finally slimmed down the edging as it never needed to be that thick! It did annoy me that the late 2012 full sized iPad got a better chip than the mini also.

When you look at the pixel density compared to the other devices on that list it really does suddenly seem pretty impressive. Apples cinema displays are bloody good! I can see them using this to pitch that it makes use easier on the eyes for all those iBooks / Kindle books.
