Interesting that the article mentions a lack of info on IPv6 support. You would think that a mobile operator would be all over that in terms of implementation and marketing given that mobile operators tend to be more familiar with IPv6 in their cellular networks (I'm generalising here).

802.11ac and a gigabit Ethernet port are nice additions for a bundled router though!

Packet tracer ICMP problem across Cloud-PT - simulating an ISP

OK so I'm trying to simulate the access part of an ISP. Its proving rather difficult though.  I can get all the clients to ping back to the interface on the ISP_EXG_R1 OK. I can dish out IP's to the customers WAN interface of their routers.

I can't for the love of me get the 'customers' public IP's to ping each other. Tracing a packet sees it being dropped on the routers interface where it should send the packet back out.

I have tried a 'ip route' but that did not work. I'm wondering if there is a limitation here. I can mapping multiple modems to one Ethernet cable...

It's dual band! (2.4 and 5GHz), has some Gigabit ethernet ports and a USB port...

Fits through a letterbox which is convenient.

Reducing noise on cisco equipment.

Running a home CCNA lab is NOISY to say the least! These aren't routers your generally going to be using under heavy loads for long periods, so if your like me and can't deal with the noise then the guide linked below maybe for you. It seems to cover all the basics such as the voltage and the pin layout although I would recommend testing with a multimeter and not the trial by error method used.

Sky Broadband Sky Hub pictures and hands-on

I was part of the trial for this and find it a really good (free when you sign up) consumer product. The WiFi is definately better compared to the previous Sagem models.

So far I've changed the subnet, Secured the interface, Allowed remote connections (make sure you change the default password if you do!!!), forwarded a few services and reserved DHCP IP's. All of which are working fine.

No issues with any devices including an Onkyo Amp, Xbox, Wii, Macbook, Panasonic Blu-ray, Sky STB's and various switches (cheap and expensive).

It's a shame they didn't go for a gigabit Ethernet ports as more and more integrated devices in the home evolve but its not a massive deal. I just use one port into a gigabit Linksys cisco switch as home as I move a lot of files about between SSD's.
